Born in Embu, Kenya, Wãwí carries her culture with her, seamlessly folding it into everything she creates with a vibrant color palette. Warm sunset scenes of African skies seem to warm the soul of the onlooker and her wearable arts elevate adornment to a whole new level of cultural richness. What comes most naturally to Wãwí is the passion with which she shares the important and integral role that Africa plays in the world. She is a cultural ambassador for not just Kenya but all of Africa. Wãwí has been featured on the Africa Channel’s My Africa and she is one of the founders of Activate Afrika, an activist movement and global network aimed at engaging people in elevating the dignity and visibility of the African Diaspora to celebrate and heal the continent.
